Can anyone tell me who these people are and what the cake was to celebrate.  It is not a commissioning cake, and it would appear to be towards the latter part of the Diomedes life with the Royal Navy.  Any suggestions to Jim Fairlie.

I have just had a look through your gallery of Diomede phots and I can tell you who the people are with the cake.  PO Cook Pincher Martin,  Lstd Crawford, (Captains Steward) and Cdr Tony Hogg.  Pincher I last saw at the Army Navy match last year and hope to see him again next weekend, Tony Hogg is now a Commodore and has the Flag Officer Training and Recruitment job.  I was on the Diomede from 1986 to 1988, when it was handed over to the Pakistan Navy, however it was in early Summer, June I think, that it went, as I flew to New York for two weeks holiday with the Buffer.  I was the PO(EW) and one of my killicks is working now my boss in the Timber Frame House construction industry.

Sandy Saunders.

PS. When I see Pincher I will ask what the cake was for.
